What attracted you to the recruiting industry?
I absolutely LOVE helping professionals find their happy place.
What is the most rewarding part of recruiting for you so far?
There is a joy when you connect the right candidate, to the right position, with the right company.
How were you introduced to the ICX Group?
I was a candidate of Tahoma Guiry, in the ICX Marketing Division, looking for my forever home. During our initial conversation, I was open and transparent about being opened to a variety of opportunities but wanted to stay in the Marketing & Design world (my passion). Next thing you know, she mentioned how fast the ICX Group Marketing Recruitment Division was growing and thought I would be a great addition to the team. So here I am!
If someone asked you to describe ICX Group in three words – what would they be?
What would be your biggest piece of professional advice you give someone looking to develop themselves and make them more attractive to recruiters?
Be Authentically You!
Don’t try to force yourself, your passion, or your skillsets to “fit a job”. Every candidate has a career opportunity that is their perfect match and [at ICX Group] we’re here to hep open your mind to possibilities you may not have even known were open for.
Fun Facts about Vanessa
Who’s your favorite superhero?
Storm – Growing up, there were hardly ANY superheroines that I could identify with. And when I used to watch X-Men after school, it was so awesome to she how tough and warrior-like she could be. Not to mention, having the ability to control the weather – living in Florida – was a gift I wish I could’ve had.
Beach or Mountain vacation?
Ooh…tough one. But I’d have to say beach. I love the water and all things island-life.
What was your favorite movie when you were growing up?
Harriet The Spy – I loved how she was inquisitive, problem-solved and in the end, didn’t have to say sorry for being who she was.
If you could wave a magic wand, what problem in the world would you solve and why?
That respect and kindness prevailed above all. In doing so, hatred, disrespect and anger would cease to exist. Love for all kind would flourish. And hopefully peace would ensue.
