Q&A With Robert Mousa
Robert came on board with ICX Group last February as our Vice President, Technology Services. Since then he has been working hard to meet the ever-growing demand for Technology professionals in our expanding market. We snagged an opportunity to chat with him about his background, the evolving world of IT even got in a couple fun questions about his life outside the office.
How long have you worked in Recruiting?
I have worked in the recruiting industry for a little over 10 years. Seven of those on the agency staffing side and for three years I led an internal recruiting team for a global company.
Have you always focused on IT recruiting?
Not always. My first 1-2 years were spent focusing on clerical, operations, back office type roles. Once I learned the ropes, I transitioned to information technology where I ran a full desk handling both business development and recruiting.
What’s your favorite part about working in this industry?
It would have to be that no day is the same. From relationship building to recruiting to scheduling interviews to negotiations (and everything in between), you are always facing a new challenge and constantly learning new things.
What advice would you give to IT professionals looking to advance their careers?
I think the best advice I could give to someone entering the IT field is to find your niche and stick with it. For example, if someone starts an IT career as a project coordinator, a good career goal to have would be to become a PMO Director and PMP certified.
What is the best way for a professional to continue to keep their skills sharp in the ever-changing world of IT?
No matter your focus within IT, there is always a certification you can pursue, a training course you can take or a conference you can attend to sharpen your skills. Even as a recruiter, I am constantly reading and attending conferences/trainings to keep my knowledge of the industry up to par.
How were you introduced to the ICX Group?
ICX posted a job opening on LinkedIn that caught my attention, so I reached out to learn more. After a few meetings and a meet and greet with the team, I was offered the opportunity to grow and manage our IT Division.

What’s your favorite pastime outside the office?
Spending time with the family, playing golf, Gator and Jaguar Football!

Matthew McConaughey…because everything in my life is alright alright alright.

No question…The Office!
