ICX Group has been retained to search for a Controller for a privately owned, growing middle market company located in Jacksonville, Florida.

Job Duties:
 Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:
  •   Month and end-year close process
  •   Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and monthly/annual financial statements
  •   Revenue and expenditure variance analysis
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
  • Implement and oversee strict financial controls and systems.
  • Assist the CFO with the budget and financial forecasts, including reporting on variances (FP&A)
  • Implement and maintain continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the company’s financial operations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
  • Oversee the preparation of all financial reviews and coordinate the review process with external auditors.
  • Recruit, train, motivate, and evaluate department staff to grow their capabilities and advance their skill sets and performance.
Requirements:
  • A mix of public accounting and industry experience is preferred; will consider a manager straight from public accounting; or an Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller with strong industry experience
  • CPA certification highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial principles
  • High proficiency in Excel and ability to learn and utilize accounting software
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Leadership capabilities with some management experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
