Job Duties:
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:
- Month and end-year close process
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and monthly/annual financial statements
- Revenue and expenditure variance analysis
- Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
- Implement and oversee strict financial controls and systems.
- Assist the CFO with the budget and financial forecasts, including reporting on variances (FP&A)
- Implement and maintain continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the company’s financial operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
- Oversee the preparation of all financial reviews and coordinate the review process with external auditors.
- Recruit, train, motivate, and evaluate department staff to grow their capabilities and advance their skill sets and performance.
- A mix of public accounting and industry experience is preferred; will consider a manager straight from public accounting; or an Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller with strong industry experience
- CPA certification highly preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial principles
- High proficiency in Excel and ability to learn and utilize accounting software
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Leadership capabilities with some management experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
