  • Create or revise 2D/3D models and shop drawings utilizing design software such as AutoCAD and AutoCAD Inventor.

  • Develop and optimize CNC programs using nesting software (e.g., SigmaNEST) for laser, plasma, and oxy-fuel cutting machines.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, engineers, and shop foremen to ensure manufacturability and accuracy.

  • Verify dimensions, material specifications, and tolerances before programming.

  • Maintain organized digital files and uphold strict revision control for drawings and programs.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on nesting efficiency and material utilization.

  • Provide occasional technical support to shop personnel for fabrication questions or troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting and detailing).

  • Basic understanding of mechanical design or sheet metal fabrication principles.

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

  • Proven ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Willingness to learn and quickly adapt to company-specific processes and software tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AutoCAD Inventor (3D modeling).

  • Familiarity with SigmaNEST or similar nesting/CNC programming software.

  • Background in steel fabrication, manufacturing, or construction industries.

  • Experience working in a unionized or industrial shop environment.

Company Benefits:

  • Competitive wages and comprehensive benefits package (union-affiliated position).

  • Opportunity to grow technical skills in a supportive, hands-on environment.

  • Collaborative team culture that connects office design and shop fabrication.
